Nordic Street Hotdogs & Sausages was born from a simple idea: bring the authentic Danish Pølsevogn experience to Central Texas.

In Denmark, the humble hotdog is anything but ordinary. Served from the iconic pølsevogn (street hotdog stand), Danish hotdogs are known for their distinctive sausages, fresh-baked buns, crisp onions, tangy pickles, creamy remoulade, and perfectly balanced flavors. They're more than just a quick meal—they're a cherished part of Danish culture and everyday life.

For nearly 30 years, Robert and Anette have built a life connected by family, tradition, and two cultures. Anette was born and raised in Denmark's northwest Jutland region, where the local “pølsevogn” has long been a familiar gathering place. During the first four years of their marriage living in Denmark, Robert discovered these uniquely Danish hotdogs and quickly fell in love with the flavors, craftsmanship, and tradition behind them.

Although Robert jokes that he is "zero percent Danish," those years created a lasting appreciation for the food and culture that became part of their family's story. Through years of visits back to Denmark, sharing meals with family, and raising their children with both American and Danish traditions, Danish food remained at the heart of their connection.

When Robert and Anette looked around Central Texas, they realized that while the region offered an incredible variety of international cuisine, authentic Danish-style hotdogs simply weren't available. Having been encouraged by friends and family, and rather than continue waiting for someone else to introduce them, they decided to do it themselves.

Based in Georgetown, Texas, and serving the greater Austin area, Nordic Street Hotdogs brings the authentic Danish pølsevogn experience to Central Texas. From traditional recipes and quality ingredients to authentic toppings and presentation, every detail is inspired by the hotdog stands that have been serving generations of Danes for decades.
